A free account includes 3 tasks a day and 120 minutes a month. Your guest task and usage move to your account; signing up does not reset usage.

Automatic language detection handles the recording. Your selected language is translated automatically after transcription. Review the original and translation together. Video translation produces text and subtitles; it does not create a dubbed video.

Make the translation useful

French connected speech can make short function words difficult to hear in a phone recording. Those words matter when a speaker is agreeing, qualifying, or rejecting a proposal. Read the English translation for the intended meaning, then check the French original around negation, dates, and conditional language. In interviews, a natural English rendering of an idiom may be more useful than preserving the French word order.

What to check in your recording

  • Replay negation and conditional wording before summarizing a commitment.
  • Verify dates and French names independently of the translated spelling.

A language-pair example

Original wording · French

Nous vous enverrons le compte rendu demain.

Translated wording · English

We will send you the meeting notes tomorrow.

Illustrative wording, not a result from an uploaded recording. Actual output depends on the audio and context.

Choose your output

Download TXT for searchable notes directly on this page. Account users can also export DOCX, PDF, or CSV. SRT and VTT can carry translated text with the recording’s segment timestamps. For an audio interview, retain the original recording so you can check the wording of any quoted passage.

Ways to use the translated text

  • English minutes from a French partner call
  • French interview excerpts for research
  • English study notes from French audio

Supported file formats

Before you upload

What should I review when translating French audio into English?

Review whether the speaker said they will do something or would do it under a condition. Poor audio can lose a short word and reverse a sentence’s meaning. Compare idiomatic expressions with the original conversation, and check formal address before using the translation in an English email.

Can I keep the French transcript as well?

Yes. The original transcript remains available in the task alongside the translation. Check it against the recording, correct errors, and select the original or translated version when exporting. A translation should not be treated as a word-for-word record of what the speaker said.

Can I translate a voice recording or podcast?

Yes. Upload a supported audio file rather than a link to an arbitrary website. Listen to quiet speakers and clipped sentence endings in the original transcript before translating. If several people speak, keep clear pauses between turns where possible.

Do I need an account, and is translation free?

Try one task a day without signing in, with up to 30 minutes per recording and 120 minutes a month. The selected translation is included. A free account allows 3 tasks a day and saves your results; guest usage is carried over.

Which export formats are available?

Guest results can be downloaded as TXT, SRT, or VTT. Sign in for DOCX, PDF, and CSV exports. SRT and VTT preserve segment timings for subtitles. Check terminology and subtitle readability before sharing the translated result.
